It was my freshman year of college, where I found myself lying awake one night, not able to sleep. I was excited for this new chapter, but realized very quickly the struggles that came while supporting myself in school. I found myself restless due to the financial strains that come while living “between paychecks.” We all know that feeling. So what did I do? The only thing I knew, and what most Americans see as the solution. I began to work harder, longer, and seek a promotion at my job. A few months later, I was schooling full-time, working overtime, enjoying that promotion, and thinking I was on my way to becoming rich.
It was during this time, I began to learn what truly drives a human being; and that is to feel. Even the most intelligent and analytical mind, at its very core, is driven by the emotion of happiness. Even though I was making good money, I wasn’t truly happy. I expected becoming “rich” would be accompanied by a certain “feeling.” I was constantly thinking: “how would I provide for a future family living like this?” I wanted to give my family the same opportunities and lifestyle my parents did for me. I thought I was chasing money, and indeed that was the miss-guiding light I was attempting to pursue, when the real thing I wanted was to feel. Feel free. Feel joy. Feel peace. It was then, where I began my journey for a financial education, seeking a form of income where my MONEY began to work hard…not ME.
Even though the financial burdens were excruciating at times, I knew there was a solution. I began reading and studying personal finances and several months down the road I found something that lifted that burden. During a summer sales program, I met a man that had much of what I was looking for: A passive income through Real Estate. I attended a seminar at Real Estate Investment Companies (REIC) and left with mixed feelings of excitement and uneasiness. I knew this was my opportunity, and several weeks later, I took it. Being able to put my financial education together with partnering and purchasing properties has been a life-long dream to me. Even in these fearful times, REIC has given me the feelings of freedom, joy, and peace. You don’t have to be rich to feel this, you just need a plan. You need a process and a dream that YOU can connect with, just as REIC has done for me.
